A Historic Milestone – Ascenso’s First Giant Tyre Rolls Out of our Curing Press
We are delighted to share a landmark achievement in our Ascenso Tyres journey.
Today the 15th August 2026 our first 27.00 R49 Giant Tyre which is an All Steel Radial (ASR) tyre has successfully rolled out of our curing press, marking a significant milestone in our commitment to delivering world class Off-Highway tyre solutions.
And this is truly a giant tyre—weighing approx. 1.5 tonnes, standing 2.7 metres tall, and capable of carrying a load of up to 27 tonnes per tyre.
Over the last two years, our Ascenso engineering and manufacturing teams have worked relentlessly to develop a Giant OTR platform capable of performing in some of the world’s toughest mining conditions. Following the successful launch of our 25 inch All Steel Radial range last year and the encouraging response from customers across the globe, we were inspired to take the next big leap.
This achievement is particularly special as here at Ascenso Tyres we have reached this milestone within just six years of our inception, placing us among a handful of companies around the world with the capability to manufacture tyres of this size and class.
The 27.00 R49 giant tyre is the first of a complete Giant OTR range that will progressively expand up to 57-inch rim sizes, enabling us to serve some of the world’s largest mining applications and reinforcing our ambition to become one of the most respected Off-Highway tyre brands globally.
