Government Grants Available for Central Tyre Inflation Systems

VF Tyre technology is proven to increase productivity and yield. As more and more farmers look to change to VF tyres on their farms grants are available under the Farming Equipment and Technology Fund set up by the Government to help offset the cost of a Central Tyre Inflation System (CTIS)

The CTIS comprises of a stand-alone air compressor which in turn supplies and monitors all four tyres with pressurised air. This it does either over the tyre or through hub channels. The control unit enables the pressure in each individual tyre to be increased or decreased at the flick of a switch therefore optimising the performance of the tyres both on the road and in the field.

The use of such a system to control tyre pressure reduces soil compaction, boosts traction, increases yield and reduces the wear and tear of the VF tyres caused by travelling on our roads.

These CTIS systems are not exclusive to tractors, they can be installed on harvesters, sprayers, and spreaders.

136 years of Tyre technology finally increasing grip and comfort

Tyre technology as with all things has seen huge advances in design and technology due to computerised 3D modelling, in just a few short years this technology has made a considerable impact on tyre design. With these new tools, designers and engineers can alter the individual characteristics of the tyre shape and tread pattern to optimise the tyre for a specific farming purpose or purposes.
